Take a trip to remote Chile with this visual feast of a documentary about the night sky above the Atacama desert – a treasured site for stargazers, where the lack of pollution provides striking sights of the heavens. Canadian filmmaker Alison McAlpine takes viewers on a spellbinding trip that weaves stunning footage of constellations, the Milky Way, and shooting stars, with interviews with those who dwell below this sky – from the astronomers working in the Atacama’s observatories to the local desert inhabitants whose mystic stories and folklore endow a sense of wonder and contemplation that will stay with viewers well beyond the film’s 78 minutes.
