Founded in 2016, SYLK started as what is still the core of their brand; a love of vintage clothes. From working two jobs and selling out of their tiny London bedrooms, they decided to relocate back to their hometown of Manchester where they now run their whole business out of a shipping container, surrounded by a diverse range of amazing small businesses in Pollard yard.
Sustainability is a key part of how they run their business, from using biodegradable packaging right through to how they live their personal lives. With that in mind, they try to source stock as local as possible with the majority of their stock being sourced in Manchester. They hand-source all their items to ensure that the style and quality fits their brand.
Their aesthetic has always leaned to a more minimal wardrobe, helping their customers style their clothes with ease and shop with longevity in mind. The majority (not inclusive) of their stock is menswear styled as women’s. They love an oversized, relaxed look but personal style is key and they love seeing how their customers style their clothes differently.
