Reasons to Book a Table at the Ducie Street Warehouse
Ducie Street Warehouse in central Manchester is home to various dining establishments, with a cafe and restaurant with a lounge bar all on-site, providing a range of options to try. But you may be wondering why here? What’s so special about this particular old warehouse? Seen one, seen them all, right? We would certainly disagree with that, and below, we’ll give you a few reasons why to book a table at the Ducie Street Warehouse on your next Manchester visit.
The History of Ducie Street
Let’s start with an origin story like all good stories do. The Ducie Street Warehouse (once also known as “The London Warehouse”) was built in 1867 to store cotton bales awaiting distribution in the big smoke mills in London (hence the nickname). The building was constructed typically of the day: broad cast-iron pylons, large riveted girders, floor joists to match, and finished with a brick-barrel ceiling.
After closure and lying idle for a time, the folks over at Native bought the space and decided to go the full glow-up – from cotton bales to cocktails. The warehouse now hosts 166 aparthotel studios, a cafe, a restaurant, a co-working area, a cocktail lounge bar, a barber and a flower shop, amongst other attractions.
The Ducie Ethos
It’s all about spending time with people you care about. This is why the Ducie restaurant created a social dining menu showcasing some of the best local produce available. In addition, the exquisite drinks menu includes classic cocktails, organic wine, spirits and soft drinks – all options for a great night out. With something new created all the time, Ducie encourages regular get-togethers at our venue.
Our Sunday Lunches
Want a reason to see us on a Sunday? Try our Sunday roast lunch! Dry-aged local beef sirloin, corn-fed chicken, rosemary leg of lamb, free-range slow-roasted gammon, and even vegan roast feature on the Ducie menu. If that’s not enough, think Yorkshire puds and a crazy variety of sides, including an entire menu devoted to cauliflower cheese. What more could you want? So get your nearest and dearest together for Sunday family time with our roasts.
It’s Brunch Time!
Ah, brunch, how we love you! Ducie has made the art of elevating this classic while still focusing on bringing people and community together with food front and centre. Our unique brunches go far beyond the Brunch Menu – which by the way, is incredible. We also offer brunch-focused events, including our Disco Brunch, Yoga Brunch, and so many more. So forget early mornings – sleep in, brunch all day and head home at a decent hour.
