There is always something exciting to do in Manchester. It’s truly a city with something on all the time to suit every taste imaginable. And when you want something a little quirky, a little different than simply hitting a restaurant, bar or one of the many nightclubs in the city, there are enough unique events to scratch that itch too. So we’ve added a few highlights below to get your amazing November planned.
Sunday 13 – Friday 18 November
The Manchester Animation Festival is on again, having graced our fair city with its presence for a few years now. It represents the biggest celebration of the art form in the UK. This year, expect a full schedule of events, including workshops, short films and award ceremonies. Tickets are available per event, or you can buy a pass for events and screenings, excluding specialist workshops and industry day.
Tuesday 15 November
Get crafty and try your hand at willow weaving and t-shirt designing while indulging in bellinis and mini pizza bites. Shop til you drop at the stalls that will grace the fair with tables full of handmade goodies, perfect for Christmas prezzies. Tickets are £20 and include a raffle entry and a bag of treats.
Sunday 20 November
In its 8th year, the Northern Vegan Festival is back, with 100% of the profits going to animal welfare charities. Over 100 stalls will be packed with dairy and meat alternatives, skincare and beauty stalls, free samples, and vegan-friendly clothing brands. Tickets are £5 plus the booking fee and gets you a gift on arrival.
Wreath-Making Workshop with Breadflower
Wednesday 23 November
Want a unique and handmade festive wreath without spending a fortune? Then, why not make your own! This two-hour workshop will take you step by step to create a perfect wreath base, adding a foliage selection you love and incorporating final flourishes to make the entire thing pop. This workshop is excellent for both beginners and experienced wreath-makers, with all equipment, foliage and decorations included. The Gin To My Tonic: The Ultimate Gin Show
Friday 25 November – Saturday 26 November
Love Gin? Then this one’s for you. Manchester Central will host over 50 distilleries and mixer brands for two days. Enjoy brand samples and purchase full sizes straight from the distillery. It’s the perfect opportunity to stock your gin cupboard for the festive period. There are also cocktail-making classes, talks, food and shopping to keep you entertained, so let the fun be-gin! Tickets are £15 and give you access to The Craft Rum Show: the Ultimate Rum Festival running as part of the gin show. So get that Christmas booze cupboard heaving by getting along to both – just make sure you eat and drink water responsibly between samples.
